About The Artist
AS a young girl, Kim Horner always had an eye for things of beauty, being drawn to colors, textures, and the perfection of nature itself. At this early age she immersed herself into drawing and mixed media works of art, garnering the same appreciation and attention her photography invokes today.
Answering the lifelong inner call to be creative, Kim manipulates a variety of mediums, pushing the boundaries of conventional photography, emphasizing the exploding field of Artistic Faux-tography.
Kim’s work ranges from fine art portraiture to the simple beauty of nature and stark still life’s as well as commercial work, all while still feeding the impressionist spirit within everyone, giving each viewer a moment to reflect.
Background: Kim Horner has shown at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery in Carlsbad, Rancho Santa Fe Gallery, Emerald Plaza Downtown San Diego, Del Mar Fair winning several awards over the years including but not limited to Best of show, 1st Place, 2nd Place and numerous honorable mentions, etc…
Kim has also shown at 101 Artist Colony in an exquisite show of local S.D. photographic artists. Encinitas City Hall, Solana City Hall, North County Camera’s elite picks from the Del Mar Fair and North County Photographic Societies show placing 1st and Best of Show!
Kim has been publicized in Dream Homes Magazine, San Diego Home and Garden and ProPhoto West. Kim Horner is a featured artist on the website of Gene Nocon a Royal Photographer of England. She is also a member of a non-profit organization called Women in creative Photography.
